ANTICORROSION COATINGS
HPCR cermakrome is a metallic ceramic coating capable ofproviding extremely high levels of corrosion and chemical protection
in very thin films. When applied to exhaust systems HPCR will withstand substrate temperatures of over 1300f.
In addition direct flame will not cause delamination, as long as substrate temperatures do not exceed this
temperature. MCX will handle environmental temperatures of up to 1600f. Due toits unique ceramic nature,
the coating also functions as a very effective thermal barrier, with reduced thermal radiation characteristics.
It can applied to any metal that can handle\cure temperature 260 C, except magnesium.The highly polished
surface provides an aesthetically pleasing as well as top performing coating.
An independent test was just completed. Cermakrome was tested against the best competitive
material. ONLY Cermakrome survived the test with NO significant rust showing on the test panels.
AT 4000 hr the competitive material was showing red rust, even when top coated with a special
protective coating (Note the competitive material was tested both with and without the top coating.).
Salt Spray testing consists of applying a coating to a steel test panel. A thin line is scribed/scratched
through the coating to bare metal. Then the coating is exposed to 100F water that contains a 5% salt.
By comparison the ocean is approximately 3% salt. This mix is sprayed continuously onto the panels
in an enclosed chamber. After 6524 hrs the panels were finally pulled. The panels were regularly
inspected and we have photos of all the test panels at 1000 hrs, 2000 hrs, 4000 hrs and 6524 hrs.
At 1000 hours the competitive material is close to Cermakrome in appearance. At 2000 hrs a major
difference is evident. At 4000 hrs red rust is highly visible creeping in from the sides on the
competitive material but on Cermakrome one small dot is all that is visible, on an edge. At 6524 hrs
the competitive material shows massive rust both creeping in from the sides and from the scribed
mark in the center of the panel. Cermakrome has barely changed in appearance since the 4000 hr
photo was taken. One small dot on an edge is basically all that is evident.
